Ash Wednesday

Tuesday, 4th March Vespers at 7.30pm

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, which falls this year on 5th March. We gather together on the preceding evening to ask the Lord and each other for forgiveness of our sins and offences, and to receive ashes on our heads as a sign of our mortality as we say farewell to the triumphal song of the Resurrection, Alleluia, which will not return to our lips until the night of Pascha.

Confessions will be heard after Vespers.
