We meet for worship at the Anglican church of St Luke the Physician, Benchill. The church is on Brownley Road, near its intersection with Hollyhedge Road.

Accessible entrance: There is a wide, step-free entrance via the path to the south side of the church (right, as you face the main doors).

Metrolink

The nearest tram stop is Benchill (Zone 4) on the Airport line, which runs from Victoria to Manchester Airport. The church is a short walk (approximately 3 minutes) away and is clearly visible from the tram stop.

43 – This runs from Piccadilly Gardens (Manchester City Centre) to Manchester Airport and stops directly outside the church – just ask the driver for “St Luke’s, Benchill”.

  • A quarter-hourly service on Saturdays; half-hourly on Sundays.
  • Using the Oxford/Wilmslow Road corridor, this service links the church to a number of University campuses and student residential areas, including Rusholme, Fallowfield, and Withington.

103 – This runs from Piccadilly Gardens (Manchester City Centre) to Manchester Airport and stops close to the church.  Alight at the intersection of Broadoak Road and Hollyhedge Road.  Then walk eastwards along Hollyhedge Road for approximately 5 minutes until the church comes into view on Brownley Road.

  • A quarter-hourly service on Saturdays; half-hourly on Sundays.
  • Using the Princess Road corridor, this service links the church to Hulme, Moss Side, Whalley Range, Fallowfield, Didsbury, and Withington.

11 – This runs between Altrincham and Stockport, and passes along Hollyhedge Road, very close to the church.

  • Every 20 minutes on Saturdays; half-hourly on Sundays.
  • This service links the church to Edgeley, Cheadle Heath, Cheadle, Gatley, Woodhouse Park, Newall Green, Baguley, and Timperley.

Train

The nearest major railway station is Manchester Airport. From there, the tram for Victoria or either of the 43 and 103 bus services can be taken to the church.
